Tech Trades by McClain and Khanna Post 319-709 Percent Returns After Filing

Chad
·Saturday, October 10, 2026

Congressional purchases in technology and related sectors have delivered some of the strongest post-filing performance recorded in our dataset. These returns are measured from the DISCLOSURE date forward and the public could have seen each of these positions when they were filed.

Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) disclosed buys in both CIEN and DELL on August 13, 2025. The CIEN position has returned 490.26 percent since that date while the DELL position has returned 440.66 percent. In Florida, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) filed a purchase of ICHR on August 6, 2025 that has since returned 318.95 percent. Each trade fell in the $1,001 to $15,000 range and has been held between 430 and 632 days.

Three additional filings show even larger moves but are outliers we are still verifying. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) disclosed a WDC purchase on January 6, 2026 currently showing a 709.35 percent return. The same member disclosed a CCG purchase on February 6, 2026 now at 555.56 percent. Rep. Gilbert Cisneros (D-CA) disclosed an SNDK purchase on February 13, 2026 reflecting a 707.42 percent return. These specific figures remain under review and have not been fully validated.

All six positions sit in technology or communication services and have produced substantial alpha relative to the market, ranging from 295 to 677 points. The longest-held trade spans 643 days while the newest has been open 273 days. Gain patterns vary with some showing strong 30-day and 90-day momentum while others have given back ground in recent months yet remain sharply higher from the disclosure baseline.

The cluster of technology names among these outperformers appears across party lines and multiple states. While the timing of the filings and subsequent price action raises questions about sector exposure, the data simply shows what has happened after the trades became visible to any investor reviewing public disclosures. Ongoing verification of the outlier trades may adjust the final numbers once complete.
